Job Summary

Huawei R&D UK is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Technology Planning Expert to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on driving large-scale research breakthroughs in terminal intelligence, including the integration of LLM and OS, the development of universal AI models, multi-modal models, and model compression and optimization. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing industry trends and technologies, formulating technical roadmaps for software, hardware, and cloud transformation, and expanding research algorithms into top-level business designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering large-scale research breakthroughs, focusing on technologies related to terminal intelligence, including but not limited to the integration of LLM and OS, universal AI basic large models, multi-modal large models, and model compression and optimization.
  • Keeping a keen eye on industry trends and key technologies in the field of terminal intelligence, and incubating the 2-3 year trends and technical roadmaps for the intelligent transformation of software, hardware, and cloud to support the 6 core functions and intelligent transformation.
  • Expanding the research-side algorithms into business top-level design, opening up new avenues, and so on.

Person Specification:

Required:

  • Be familiar with the OS system architecture, have a clear understanding and knowledge of the system bottom-level architecture, and have experience in applying intelligent technology to the system layer. And deeply observe and analyse the intelligent direction of the top products in the industry (including but not limited to IOS, Android, and Windows), and output the 1-3 year plan for the AI native OS to promote the landing of the AI native OS.
  • Have in-depth academic research capabilities and research achievements in the field of AI (natural language processing, computer vision, and decision reasoning, etc.). Be familiar with Huawei’s business, have rich innovative practical experience in technology research and projects, and deeply observe and analyse the technical competitiveness and solutions of the top AI products in the industry (including but not limited to GPT4, Gemini, Claude, and Kimi), and output the 1-3-year plan for the terminal AI intelligent direction with competitiveness.
  • Have certain experience in the AI landing end-side technology, a certain understanding of the industry AI large model landing end-side and chip hardware requirements, and promote the landing of terminal intelligent products.
  • Keeping abreast of the academic and industrial research trends in the AI field. And having a certain influence in the AI research field, being able to quickly obtain industry technical resources and transform them into internal competitiveness.
  • Being able to understand the business value behind the mainstream technical routes in the industry and their impact on the company’s AI research strategy and identifying the company’s technological innovation opportunities and challenges.

Desired:

  • PhD in the relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in terminal intelligence.
  • Proven track record of academic research and practical achievements in AI fields.
